With the 2026 season about to begin, GRNA is urgently looking for more 18+ senior umpires to help cover our games.

🏐 Why we need help
We have 10 Opens teams this year, and while some teams do an incredible job supporting umpiring, the reality is that two teams alone have historically provided over 60% of our 18+ senior umpires. In some cases, nearly half the players from those teams also step up as senior umpires each week to help keep games running.

Some teams currently don’t provide any senior umpires at all, which makes it very difficult to cover every game.

⚠️ What happens if we can’t find more umpires?
At the moment GRNA does not require teams to supply an umpire, however if we cannot increase the number of 18+ senior umpires available we may need to explore introducing this requirement during the season.

Our competition simply won’t be able to continue smoothly if teams are not willing to help with umpiring.

• Opens players who already umpire
• Opens players who would like to learn to umpire
• We would also love to have parents of our junior players who know the game get involved

Every additional umpire helps keep teams on the court.
